Local Live Music & Performances at Home

Outdoor concerts and performances at Discovery Green and Miller Outdoor Theatre are some of our favorite Houston summer activities. However, this year we’ll be enjoying live music from our living room instead. Luckily, many local artists and venues have risen to the challenge and are creating ample online content to entertain their audiences. Here’s just a few of the virtual concerts and performances I’m looking forward to streaming.

Discovery Green is hosting live concerts on their Facebook page, like tonight’s performance by the Taiwanese drum group, Drumming up Hope at 9 pm.

Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion has created a daily Arts at Home program highlighting links to some of the best arts, dance, and music on the internet.

Listeners can tune in to Houston Public Media to hear live living room performances from the Houston Symphony and classic broadcasts from Houston Grand Opera

Kam Franklin of The Suffers brings her soulful vibe into your home every Saturday night via the local band’s Facebook page

White Oak Music Hall has compiled a Spotify playlist full of love for Houston’s local music scene and artists.

Be sure to follow along your favorite venues and artists’ social media to see what fun activities they are putting together for fans to enjoy safely at home.

Happy Listening!
