Go Texan Day!

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is back! Get your western wear ready for Go Texan Day on Friday, February 25th. This city-wide celebration kicks off the rodeo season by encouraging Houstonians to embrace their inner cowboy and cowgirl. Here are a few events to welcome back this beloved Houston institution celebrating its 90th anniversary.

Watch the trail riders arrive on horseback and in covered wagons in Memorial Park, the final destination for all 11 trail rides, which cover roughly 1,300 miles.

Head downtown to Hermann Square in front of City Hall for Rodeo Roundup (11 am) where you can enjoy free live music, chopped barbecue sandwiches, and a photo op with a real Texas longhorn.

The festivities continue downtown on Saturday morning with the Rodeo Run followed by the Rodeo Parade (10 am) with country music star Cody Johnson as the Grand Marshall.

Giddy Up!
