Houston Holiday Outings

Houston is looking merry and bright! With everything from a lit-up lazy river to a drive-thru light extravaganza, there’s plenty of holiday cheer to fill up your calendar. Cue up the Christmas carols and fill a thermos with hot cocoa to accompany you on these festive outings.

Texas Winter Lights: Float through the lights surrounding the Texas-shaped lazy river on Mariott Marquis’ downtown deck. Don’t let the chilly temps keep you away as the water is heated to a comfortable 80 degrees. Plus, there are plenty of fire pits for those who choose to walk through the interactive display.

Discovery Green: Everyone’s favorite downtown greenspace has been transformed into a winter wonderland with an outdoor ice skating rink, decked-out Christmas trees, and a special video installation celebrating Houston’s unsung heroes.

Galaxy Lights: Only at Space Center Houston can you experience an out of this world light experience which includes an indoor meteor shower, 3-d holiday decor, and a 200-foot LED light tunnel with over 250,000+ lights synchronized to favorite holiday songs.

The Light Park: As you drive-thru this animated light spectacle, be sure to tune in to its special radio channel playing a festive mix of Christmas music.

Nite of Lights: For 43 years, the residents of Prestonwood Forest have been hosting a friendly competition to see whose house outshines them all. Be your own judge as you tour the streets of this Houston neighborhood.

Merry Christmas!
