Houston’s Best Frozen Treats

Triple digit temperatures signal summer is here in Houston. It also means it’s time to explore the diverse offerings the city has to offer in the frozen dessert department! Whether you prefer a traditional scoop of ice cream in a waffle cone or an icy, fruit-flavored paleta, there’s plenty of ways to get your frozen fix.

Sweet Cup Gelato: Since 2012, Jasmine Chida has been concocting creative and seasonal flavors, including H-Town’s Blue Moon available right now – made with fresh local blueberries plus vanilla bean, marshmallow fluff, raspberries, and lemon.

La Brisa: Fill up a box of paletas (frozen ice pops) from this family-run business where the fruit bars feature refreshing watermelon and cantaloupe or try their Diabilto version with a chili center for a sweet and spicy kick.

Tinys Milk and Cookies: You might be familiar with Tinys’ famous chocolate chip cookies but they also make homemade ice cream too, with a Milk and Cookies flavor, of course.

Nu Ice: Snowflake Ice is a must-try at this Asiatown favorite where you can build your own mountain of shaved ice layered with syrups and toppings.

Texas Sno: If you’re craving a New Orleans-style snoball, check out Texas Sno’s weekly schedule to find out where their ice-shaving machine will turn up next with creams and flavorings straight from NOLA.

Be cool!
