White Linen Night in the Heights

White Linen Night in the Heights makes its return to Houston’s event calendar this year on Saturday, August 6th from 6-9 pm. Inspired by the New Orleans version, partygoers don white linen in an attempt to stay cool while exploring this historic Houston neighborhood. Most of the action takes place on 19th Street where local shops offer a reprieve from the heat with A/C blasting and retail therapy as well. However, this block party extends to White Oak Drive and Heights Boulevard too!

Here are some highlights for this year’s festivities:

  • Jubilee on 19th Street hosts live music from Lords of Kool, plus cocktails and plenty of white linen apparel and accessories if you’re still in need of attire.
  • Benny Thunders, a pay-as-you-pour wine and draft beer bar, celebrates its grand opening on White Oak Drive from 12pm-2 am.
  • Redbud Gallery on 11th Street features paintings by El Paso-based artist, James Magee from 6-9 pm.
  • Heights Mercantile offers outdoor family-friendly fun with a live DJ, bubble bar, and bubble artists from 5-9 pm.

Have fun!
