Calling all vintage lovers! This weekend (November 9 & 10) is the 9th annual Houston Vintage Market & Festival. One part costume dance party, one part fashion show, one part pop-up shop, and one part classic car show, all come together at this nostalgic celebration of fashion and antiques of the 20th century.
Held at the 1940 Air Terminal Museum, where the original art deco design of the Houston Municipal Airport Terminal Building makes for the perfect backdrop for the two days of festivities. Friday night’s Preview Party (7-11 pm) will highlight style and fashion from the Middle East and Asia, with this year’s theme being “Far & Near.” So dress in your finest caftan, kimono, or sari and take in the evening’s fashion show, live dance performances, and kung fu films. Saturday’s events kick off at 11 am with a Tiger Flight flyby. Be sure to check out the classic cars parked out front before you head in inside for the Ms. Houston Vintage Pageant at 1 pm. Spend the rest of the day searching for treasures from the bazaar of vendors selling retro clothes, accessories, and antiques to add to your personal collection.
Tickets are $20 for Friday and Saturday ($25 at the door) and $5 for Saturday only ($10 at the door) and are available through the Houston Vintage website.
